Built for the sensitivity of legal data

Every NyAI Enterprise deployment runs in an isolated Virtual Private Cloud. No shared infrastructure, no shared models, no shared logs. Your data never touches another client's environment.

We use AES-256 encryption for all data at rest and TLS 1.3 for all data in transit. Encryption keys are managed in dedicated Hardware Security Modules and rotated quarterly. Access to production systems requires hardware MFA and is logged immutably.

Our models are hosted entirely on internal infrastructure. We do not route sensitive legal queries through any third-party AI provider including OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google. All inference happens within our controlled environment.

Annual red-team penetration testing is conducted by CERT-In empanelled security firms. We operate a responsible disclosure programme with a 48-hour response SLA for critical vulnerabilities.

Our Zero-History mode ensures that sensitive strategy discussions, draft pleadings, and client instructions never leave your session memory — maintaining the confidentiality obligations that are fundamental to legal practice.

We will never comply with requests for client data without a valid court order, and we notify affected clients promptly (to the extent legally permitted) when any such request is received.

Why we built NyAI

India has over 1.7 million advocates and thousands of in-house legal teams. Yet the tools available to them were never designed for the unique complexity of Indian law — foreign-built software adapted for a system it fundamentally doesn't understand.

The Indian legal system is vast and deeply layered: 25 High Courts with distinct practices and local rules, a Supreme Court corpus spanning decades, hundreds of specialised tribunals, and a constantly evolving regulatory framework across SEBI, RBI, MCA, IRDAI, CCI, and more. International AI products simply don't understand this landscape.

NyAI was founded in 2024 by lawyers, AI researchers, and product builders from Ahmedabad who set out to change this. We built from first principles — curating Indian law datasets, training models on Indian legal reasoning, and designing workflows around how Indian practitioners actually work.

1. Data Fiduciary Responsibility

NyAI acts as a Data Processor on behalf of the individual advocate or law firm (the Data Fiduciary). In accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, we process personal data only for providing legal research and drafting services as instructed by you.

2. Data Retention Policy

By default, NyAI retains conversation history and documents for a period of 3 years in compliance with standard Indian legal record-keeping norms regarding the general limitation period for civil actions. You may explicitly request deletion of your data at any time through Settings.

3. Indian Data Residency

All data is processed within the sovereign territory of India on MeitY-empanelled cloud infrastructure (Mumbai/Pune AZs), ensuring compliance with Section 16 of the DPDP Act regarding cross-border transfer restrictions.

4. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, and erase any personal data we hold. Submit requests to privacy@nyai.in. We respond within 72 hours for standard requests and 24 hours for urgent matters.

5. Information Security

We implement AES-256 encryption at rest, TLS 1.3 in transit, hardware MFA for all production access, and immutable audit logs. We hold SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001:2022 certifications.

1. Professional Responsibility

NyAI is a technological aid for legal professionals. It does not replace the requirement for independent verification. All citations must be verified against official SCC, Manupatra, or Gazette records before use in any court filing or legal opinion. You remain solely responsible for the accuracy of any legal work product produced using NyAI.

2. No Attorney-Client Relationship

Use of NyAI does not create an attorney-client relationship between you and NyAI Technologies Pvt. Ltd. Our role is strictly limited to providing a research and drafting interface. Nothing in NyAI's outputs constitutes legal advice.

3. Bar Council of India Compliance

Users who are enrolled advocates are responsible for ensuring their use of NyAI complies with the Bar Council of India Rules of Professional Conduct and Etiquette. NyAI is a research tool only and may not be used to solicit clients or misrepresent AI-generated content as independent legal work.

4. Subscription & Permitted Use

Access is granted on a subscription basis for your lawful professional use. Accounts may not be shared across firms. Misuse for generating bulk content, scraping the corpus, or any non-legal purpose will result in immediate termination without refund.

5. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
